Bob Jones in the USCGD14 Public Relations Office.

1974

After Ron Marlett was discharged from the Coast Guard in February, many of the people Ron worked with also left for other assignments. Photojournalist Bob Jones replaced Romy Guba  as the 14th Coast Guard District's photographer. Jones also took over the responsibilities of publishing the Pacific Shield magazine and continued to use Ron Marlett's Ensign Bafflestir cartoons. Bob Jones eventually won first place in the Department of Defense's Thomas Jefferson Award Program for his work on the Pacific Shield magazine.
