Ron Marlett with his papers for a 1-week leave.

1970

After Ron Marlett's graduation from boot camp, he turned in his leggings, belt and citation cord which ended his involvement with the Coast Guard Marching Band. Ron attended a brief meeting with the company commander who wished all the graduates good luck with their careers in the Coast Guard. Chief Rogers then handed out 1-week leave papers and instructions on where to go when the graduates return from leave. In this picture that Ron's mother took, Ron stands on Eagle Road with his leave papers ready to depart the training center for a well deserved rest.
