Ron Marlett's friends helping him with his seabag.

1970

The Coast Guard Training Center Alameda received over forty new recruits every week. From each new group that came into boot camp, those who played music instruments would be transfered to Oscar Company; a company made up of musician and honor guard recruits. It was a tradition for Oscar's 7th-week recruits to carry the seabag for the 8th-week graduate. In this picture, Ron Marlett's friends help him carry his seabag to his parents' car that was parked on Eagle Road.  Oscar Company's barracks was on the bottom floor of the building behind Ron.
