Contino's Monolith by Ron Marlett.

Contino's Monolith 20" x 16" April 29, 2009
During low tide at Laguna Beach, Ron Marlett's friend Anthony Mack took Ron on a tour of the beach that was Anthony's childhood playground. Ron took photographs of the area and later painted this piece of waves crashing against one of the unusual rock formations during high tide. The painting gets its name from the land owners who lived on the plateau. The painting's coherency is achieved with the monolith on the painting's left side being balanced by the light areas on the compositions right side. You can buy a poster of this painting by going to Ron Marlett's Store
