Ron Marlett working on his painting of Samantha.

2005

Ron Marlett's niece and her husband commissioned Ron to paint a portrait of their daughter using colors that would complement their Victorian decorating. Ron's realistic style of painting required three stages of production. In this photograph, Ron is working on the first stage where he is applying the undercoat to all the shapes in the composition. The preliminary sketch can still be seen on the book's cover where Ron has not yet applied the paint. You can buy a poster of this painting at Ron Marlett's store.
