Ron Marlett working on a horse portrait.

1993

Ron Marlett was commissioned to paint a show horse named Skippy. The horse was cared for at a stable in Moorpark, California where Ron was able to study the horse. He also took photographs of the surrounding landscape so that it could be used for the painting's environment. Behind Ron's easel are some of his earlier attempts at impressionistic painting. The one impressionistic painting at the upper far right was given to his cousin Linda and her husband Jim Windler.
