Ron Marlett's painting of a Goldfinch.

American Goldfinch   15 x 18   December 1, 1995
Ron's portrait of the American goldfinch is a variation to the birdie-on-a-branch subject matter that amateur artists like to paint. The painting was created to complement his mother's porcelain goldfinch that she displayed in her living room. Ron added the pink and orange roses so that the hues would join together with the yellow bird in creating a composition of color. The bright colors and their relationship with each other became the main interest, placing the bird as a secondary element. You can buy a framed or unframed poster of this painting in various sizes at Ron Marlett's Store
