Ron Marlett's painting of birds eating potato chips.

Birds and Potato Chips   18 x 14   May 12, 1998
Small birds have always facinated Ron, and so he continuously finds ways of displaying them and their behaviors in his work. In his piece Birds and Potato Chips, a chipping sparrow perched on a pussy willow watches a cautious northern water thrush and a flying Canada warbler helping themselves to a bag of potato chips. The painting represents the birds' innate disposition for seizing opportunity, and our own compassion in providing them an easy meal.
