Ron Marlett was transfered to the 14th Coast Guard District and was stationed aboard the USCGC Winnebago. Ron's first two weeks aboard the Winnebago was spent working in the ship's galley. A shipmate took this photo of Ron resting on the Winnebago's fantail after completing his evening duties. In the background is Pier 11 where the Aloha Tower is located. The next day the Winnebago steamed out to her Ocean Station Victor position halfway between Midway Atoll and Japan. |
