Ron Marlett was under the command of Lieutenant Gary Boyer after Ron was transferred to the Coast Guard District Office in 1971. Lieutenant Boyer gave Ron the order to create a cartoon called Ensign Bafflestir that became famous within the Coast Guard. After a distinguished career in the Coast Guard, Captain Boyer retired from the service he devoted his life to, but he could not retire from the sea. Gary bought himself a sailboat and went back to sea as a yachtsman. |
