Ron Marlett's younger brother Rich joined the Army and became a tank driver. After his training at Fort Knox, Kentucky, he was assigned to the 3rd Armored Division in Kirchgoens, Germany. During exercises, there was a lot of idle time followed by spurts of activity as tanks practiced maneuvers. In this picture, Rich is reading in the gunner's station of his tank while the crew waited for orders to move in convoy formation. |
