Ron
Marlett's oldest brother Rob developed an interest in researching the
roots to the Marlett's family tree. One of the more interesting stories
that Rob discovered was of a relative who was captured by Confederate
cavalry during the Civil War. Private Joseph Marlett was sent to
Andersonville prison where he died from dysentery; a fate shared by
thousands of prisoners in Union and Confederate prison camps during the
war. In this picture, Rob kneels behind the marker honoring Joseph
Marlett at the Andersonville National Park in Georgia. Return to Gallery
