Ron Marlett entered the Coast Guard boot camp in February and was assigned to the marching band during his 8-week indoctrination into the military. Every Friday the band led the recruits in honoring the graduating company from boot camp. Ron Marlett is in the second rank playing the tenor saxophone. The band's director that is saluting is Chief Musician William Hastings who was the director of the band for over 5 years, and under his direction, had a record album produced in 1965.
