Ron Marlett joined Sea Explorers Ship 469 of Woodland Hills, California soon after his 14th birthday. Ship 469 met at the Methodist Church that Ron's family were members of until the family moved to Westlake Village in 1970. Ron began to focus all his free time toward learning seamanship and building model ships while he was in the Sea Explorers. In this picture, Ron passed the test to become an apprentice seaman and wears his new rank on the front left side of his jumper. |
