During patrol between Midway Island and Japan, the USCGC Winnebago high lined with a Navy destroyer to recieve food and mail. High lining is an operation where a line is rigged between two ships while both ships are underway on the same course. Ron Marlett was a line handler during high line operations and in this picture; he is waiting for orders to haul away on the running lines that were rigged between the Winnebago and the Navy destroyer. |
