Rich Marlett in his pirate costume.

2007

Ron Marlett's younger brother Rich developed an interest in historical reenacting. Rich was an active participant in several groups such as a Union soldier in the 100th Pensylvannia, a WW1 French soldier in the 151st Regiment, and a WW1 German soldier in the 23rd Silesian. In this picture, Rich is reenacting an early 18th century English pirate complete with authentic weapons. Collecting the uniforms for each group can be very expensive. Rich spent over $1200.00 in his pirate uniform, which included a sash made in India.
