Ron Marlett's model of a Coast Guard cutter.

1966

Ron Marlett built Revell's 1/72 scale PT 109 to look like a Coast Guard cutter. Like Ron's oil painting skills, his model building skills were extremely amateurish. Ron did not do any research on how Coast Guard cutters were painted. The model was stripped of its torpedo tubes and spray painted white. Ron painted CG 469 on the model's hull as a reference to the Coast Guard and to the number of his Sea Explorer Ship.
