Ron Marlett's Sea Scout Ship SSS Sea Wolf in dry dock.

1967

When the SSS Sea Wolf was in dry dock for maintenance, Ron Marlett painted the boat so that it would resemble the Coast Guard's painting scheme. Ron used masking tape for the stripes and letters and hand painted the Sea Explorer emblem on both sides of the boat. Ron painted the cabin gray and added SES 469 in white above the pilothouse window. A couple of months later during a towing exercise, the towing line became entangled with the boat's propeller and the Coast Guard had to tow the Sea Wolf back to Fish Harbor.
