Ron Marlett painted this portrait of Anthony Mack's wife Susan as a teenager when she was 17 in 1971. Susan let Ron use some of her photographs taken during that time as a reference for the portrait. The plumeria flowers and puka shell necklace were added as areas of interest in the composition, and also to reflect the essence of what a teenager is in their quest for individualism.  Susan met Anthony Mack at UCI and shortly thereafter, were married in 1987.   Return to Gallery
