Ron Marlett's parents Howard and Vera pose in front of their 5505 SW Illinois Street home in Portland, Oregon. Ron was born and raised in this home until the age of six. The Marlett family took an interest in landscaping their property and also managed a vegetable garden on the side of their house. Ron helped his brother Rob and sister Glennis with hoeing and raking the vegetable garden. Through these early garden experiences with his family, Ron developed a life-long interest in horticulture.
