Marlett organized a one-man exhibition of his Tahitian paintings at the
Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles, California. Ron brought the
family who cared for him in Tahiti to California so they could help him
perform a Tahitian music and dance show during the exhibition. In this
picture Teuruhei Buchin is sewing a decorative head garland called a hei that was used by one of the dancers. Teuruhei's two grandchildren, Vera and Tetira Vivish, performed traditional dances called otea, apa rima, and tamure. Return to Gallery
