Norman
and Susan Goeschl commissioned Ron Marlett to paint a
large painting of Ohio's wildlife. Norman provided Ron with
photographs that he took while camping with his family. Ron used the
pictures to create a landscape where he could display some of Ohio's
wildlife with the deer being the center of interest as well as a focal
point for the composition. In this picture, Ron is mixing his paints
with linseed oil to begin the detailing of his subject matter. When the
oil paints are mixed with linseed oil, the paints are thinner and
become easier to render small details such as the animals' hair and
tree leaves.
