At the family home in Canoga Park, California, Ron Marlett bought a puppy for a dollar and named him Cheeny. Ron took this photograph of himself and Cheeny by holding the camera in his left hand, which explains the picture's blurred image. Ron used this photograph to paint his first large scale self portrait. A couple of years later Ron painted several large scale portraits of Hawaiian women for a show he did at the Kahala Mall. |
