Ron Marlett took an interest in still life and wildlife painting during the mid 1990s and entered his paintings in the Thousand Oaks City Artwalk. The artwalk was held on the grounds of the Civic Arts Center adjacent to Thousand Oaks Boulevard. Ron set up his easel and worked on a small portrait of the South American sword-billed hummingbird. The unusual bird attracted many curious spectators who quietly watched Ron paint. |
